The Minster Church
The investigation of the Saxon Settlement in Warminster
Led by volunteers from the local community the project created a free heritage interactive which told the story of the Minster Church in Warminster.
Using the town’s archive images as well as filmed interviews with experts, the project created a heritage documentary which told the story of the town’s early development.
Expert input by professional and amateur archaeologists and historians, several living locally, provided skills, training, resources, events and talks for volunteers of all ages throughout the life of the project.
Many members of the community, schools, voluntary groups and organisations became involved in the investigations
500 cds were made and given out free of charge.
A heritage app was also created, which contained a ‘Then and Now’ gallery, and photographs of the archaeological finds.
